From a very young age, I knew that I wanted to “make things” for a living. I told people I wanted to be a carpenter when I was older. I specifically remember drawing house floor plans on grid paper for fun. Lightbulbs would go off in my head as I considered how things should be organized within a space. It evolved to building skate ramps and duct tape hand goods for fun. Constantly finding an outlet to work with my hands, and bring an idea to life. Getting a degree in design was the easiest outlet for me to turn my “I want to make something” mentality into something marketable and sustainable. Now, I have successfully made a career by making things and couldn’t be happier.
